Smell Awesome Every Time With These 16 Perfume Hacks

You might have a thing about expensive perfumes but getting the most out of them is equally important. Here are 16 perfume hacks that will have you smelling like a million dollars all the time.

  • To make your expensive perfumes last longer, do not store them in toilets or bathrooms. Humidity, heat, and moisture break down the rihanna’s perfume molecules easily as well as lessen their quality. Store perfumes in cool dry and dark places, away from direct sunlight.
  • If you want the smell to last longer, rub a little petroleum jelly on your pulse points before spraying the perfume. The petroleum jelly will help to hold the perfume longer onto your skin, thus making the smell last.
  • Apply perfumes directly after a shower and before putting on clothes. The moisture on your body will help lock in the fragrance as well as save the perfume from staining the jewellery and clothes.
  • If you have dry skin, apply an unscented moisturiser before spraying the perfume. Oily skin tends to retain fragrance longer than dry skins.
  • Apply perfumes on pulse points and warm areas of the body. The skin on this areas is thin, thus letting the perfume diffuse across the entire body and making the fragrance last longer.
  • It is a common yet a wrong practice to rub wrists after applying perfume. This habit would make the top notes disappear faster. Instead, slightly brush the wrists with a mild touch.
  • Alcohol in the perfumes tends to dry out hair if sprayed directly. Instead, spray the perfume into a hairbrush and run in through your hair.
  • If you want a lighter smell, spray the perfume in the air and just walk in the mist. This will give you a hint of perfume without an overpowering smell.
  • Before going on a perfume-buying spree, familiarize yourself with common perfume terms such as body mist, eau de cologne, Eau de perfume, eau de toilette etc. or top notes, heart notes, base notes etc.
  • To make most out of even the last drop of your perfume, pour the last drops into an unscented lotion.
  • You can create your own custom scent by layering different perfumes. However, be sure to layer up perfumes of the same class rather than clashing ones. Try using bath oil followed with a deodorant of the same range and top it up with a strong fragrance.
  • When you do not like a fragrance, you can simply wipe it off with a makeup wipe.
  • If you want to sample fragrances, use business cards as blotter strips.
  • Perfumes can help you sleep better. Spray calmer notes of perfume on your pillows for a soothing fragrance.
  • To smell the top notes of a fragrance, smell it at least 5 minutes after it has been sprayed. To get quick touch ups of perfumes, spray on cotton swabs and carry with you in your handbag.
  • To make your towels and clothes smelling good, line the drawers with tissue paper and spray some scent onto them. You can do the same with a scented bar of soap that has been covered in a tissue paper.
